About Shots by John
John's journey into photography began with a gift from his grandmother — a camera she gave him shortly before she passed. What started as a way to hold onto that memory grew into a genuine passion, shaped further by a childhood playing sports — starting with swimming, then football, before finding his home on the basketball court in 6th grade, where he's played ever since. He added track to the mix during his junior year, bringing the same drive and discipline from the field and court into every shoot.
Currently a senior at Paradise Valley High School, John blends the intensity of sports photography with the connection and detail of portrait work. With 2-5 years of experience serving the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Surprise, Glendale, Goodyear, and Tempe communities, he's built a reputation for capturing authentic, powerful moments — whether it's the split-second of a game-winning play or the quiet confidence of a portrait session.
For John, photography isn't just a job. It's a way of preserving what matters — one frame at a time.
